Installation Preparation #
Installing the Reclaim System must conform to local plumbing, electrical, and sanitation codes. It is the customer’s responsibility to obtain all permits and install equipment to conform to all state and local codes.
Placement #
The Reclaim System should be located 4-6 inches from the back wall. There are a total of five water lines that must be attached to the unit.

- Flush Water to Sewer

- SEG Pump to Reclaim Unit
- 2” NPT Connection
- Recirculation to Tunnel Pit
- 2” NPT Connection
- Reclaim Out to Pump Supply Tank
- 1.5” NPT Connection
Use 200 psi hose (Eaton BOSFLEX or hard line plumbing) and heavy duty stainless steel hose clamps on every connection to ensure reliable operation. Lines should be positioned to minimize bends and lines from tanks should hang in a manner to minimize loading on the plumbing connections. If needed, install additional clamps or hose supports to the Reclaim System frame to reduce hose weight on fittings.
There are also 2 air lines that must be connected.
- Air Feed Line from Air Flow Meter to Tank Bubblers
- 3/8” Line
- Shop Air into Regulation
- 1/4” Line
Use 100 psi pneumatic air lines for air connections and any maintenance related replacements
SEG Pump Installed in Underground Clarifying Tank #
The SEG (grinder pump) is located in the clarifying tank (typically third tank) and is used to pump during both the reclaim and recirculation modes. This pump is a 3 phase 4 HP centrifugal pump with a grinder function to prevent any foreign objects from clogging the filter or lines.
This pump flows up to 85 GPM of water in the recirculation mode (using 2 inch flow lines) and 20-30 GPM during the reclaim mode (using 1.5 inch line size). The pump is mounted to a stand to reduce the possibility of ingesting non-floating materials which could damage the pump.
NOTE: This pump is a grinder style pump and is designed to handle “flushable materials” such as cloth, wood chips, paper and plastic. These pumps are not designed to pump water with abrasive materials such as multimedia, gravel, or metal. Failure to properly clean construction debris or properly maintain tanks will result in pump damage or failure which is not convered by pump manufacturer’s warranty.
Electric Power Requirements #
The unit has been designed to utilize 480VAC 3 phase power with ground from the facility. Review the electrical schematic for required current ratings and integration of the system controller.
Power requirement is 15A, 3 Phase 480VAC fed by a trip class 10 or higher. Wiring and conduits as permitted by local code.
! WARNING !
The 24VDC signal from the system controller can only be turned on or off at the wash controller. The 24VDC signal power must be turned off at the system controller relay before opening the Reclaim System controller for maintenance.

Multimedia Filter #
The multimedia filter flush cycle is triggered by the PLC. The flush setting can be based on the pressure drop (preferred method) or if the water pressure in the wash is low, the flush can be performed overnight when pressure and flow requirements will not impact other equipment in the wash.
Floor Drain/Recirculation Loop #
The filter flush line and reclaim tank overflow lines must drain to the oil multimedia filter separator tank and the plumbing must be able to flow up to 70 GPM.
In addition, the plumbing should be constructed to allow a visual indication of water flowing to drain to help diagnose proper system operation and have visual feedback if the drain line becomes clogged.
The recirculation line should be directed to flow into the pit before returning to the first waste water tank. This allows the recirculating water to help flush debris from the pit and reduce the need to clean dirt from pit.
- This can be done by adding a clear section of pipe or having a gap in the plumbing to the drain to be able to see that water is flowing to the drain during the flush cycle.
On new installations, please work with your innovateIT representative to ensure the design of the pit maximizes the recirculation flow to eliminate daily pit maintenance. Ensure that the wash supply tank is equipped with overflow to sewer in the event of excess reclaim production.
Compressed Air Supply #
The pilot-operated solenoid valves require a supply of compressed air to operate.. Install a compressed air supply line on the back wall of the equipment room in the vicinity of the Reclaim System.
Add a ball valve and fitting to allow running an air-line to the pressure regulator / water separator located on the Reclaim System frame. This air supply is required to operate the air operated solenoid valves.
The 24VDC pilot valves are located on the left side of the Reclaim System controller housing and are controlled by the Reclaim System controller. The supply pressure must be between 80-150 psi. The regulator should be adjusted to provide 80 psi minimum air pressure to the pilot solenoid valves.
A dryer should be used to reduce moisture from the air compressor and the water separator (located on the unit) should be checked on a daily basis to ensure dry air is supplied to the solenoid valves.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Reclaim System unit will not operate without compressed air to open and close valves. DO NOT TURN OFF THE AIR COMPRESSOR AT NIGHT UNLESS UNIT IS DOWN FOR REPAIR.
